Download - To download a program you will need a Zip file uncompressing utility. There are plenty of good ones out there, and here is a link to WinZip. Go to the Developers' Resources page and click on the program you wish to get. Your computer will ask you if you want to open the program or store it to your disk. Select the store option. Next, select a directory to store the program. The computer will do the rest.

There are two main reasons you may want to choose to pay for a website provider. The first is to avoid the advertising on your pages, and the second is free web hosts seldom provide access to your own cgi_bin, which will prevent you from performing many tasks which make websites dynamic.

The first type of provider will be running on a NT system, the other will be running on a UNIX type system. Each system has its pro's and con's. If your using Microsoft products for website development, then the NT server will provide the most useful backbone for your website. if you are familiar with the UNIX system, CGI, or PEARL, then a Unix server will be the best choice.
